Zambia’s bookmakers, ranked like a league table. We check every site’s licence, payment options and bonus terms, and show what you really get after Zambia’s betting taxes.

Betway suspended its Zambian operations in October 2025 after the 10% betting tax ruling and hasn’t announced a return. AfricaBet’s Zambian site now redirects to its international site. We’ll review both again if that changes.
Scores are our editorial assessment of each bookmaker’s published licence details, payment options and bonus terms. Offers change often, so confirm them in the bookmaker’s cashier. 18+. New customers only.
Two new taxes now apply to every online bookmaker in Zambia. Most comparison sites still don’t mention them.

Example: deposit K100 and about K95 reaches your account. Withdraw K1,000 and about K950 reaches your wallet.

“100% up to K5,000” tells you nothing on its own. What matters is how much you must bet, at what minimum odds, and by when. A 3x rollover sounds easy until every bet has to be at odds of 3.0. These are the real published terms, worked out after Zambia’s 5% deposit levy.
Based on each bookmaker’s published terms. PariPesa’s maximum bonus varies by campaign (K2,600 to K10,000); we use the lowest. Always check the full terms in the cashier. 18+.
Mobile money is how most Zambians fund a betting account, and deposits are usually instant. Withdrawals are where sites differ, and the bookmaker matters more than the network. Before you deposit, check three things in the cashier: that withdrawals go back to the same mobile money number, the minimum withdrawal, and any fee on top of the 5% levy.
Keep a small balance in your wallet after depositing. A withdrawal can bounce if the receiving wallet has hit its monthly limit or needs a KYC upgrade with the network.
Most lists rank bookmakers by the size of the welcome bonus, the least useful number on the page. A K2,000 bonus you can never withdraw is worth less than a K200 bonus you can cash out by Sunday. These are the five things we score, weighted by what matters most in Zambia right now, starting with licensing. Bookmakers can’t buy a higher place, and our commission never changes the Log.
We look at what each bookmaker publishes: the licensing body, the licence number and the company behind it. Offshore-only sites score lower.

Not the size of the bonus: the rollover, the minimum odds and the deadline. Try it yourself with the bonus calculator.

Gal Sport Betting tops our Log with a score of 8.6. It publishes its licence number, takes Airtel, MTN and Zamtel from K1, lets you collect winnings at its shops and offers 24/7 phone and WhatsApp support. betPawa is our pick for small stakes, with deposits from K1 and bets from just K0.01.
Yes. Sports betting is licensed by the Betting Control and Licensing Board under the Betting Control Act, and casinos by the Ministry of Tourism. Every review in our Log shows the licence details the bookmaker publishes on its own site, so you can see at a glance which operators are licensed locally and which rely on an overseas licence.
Since 8 August 2025 a 10% excise duty has applied to betting stakes. Since 1 January 2026 the Betting Levy Act has added a 5% levy on deposits into, and withdrawals from, online betting accounts. That means a K100 deposit puts K95 in your account, and a K500 withdrawal reaches your wallet as K475.
Betway suspended its Zambian operations in October 2025, after the Constitutional Court declined to suspend the new 10% excise duty on betting stakes. It has not announced a return, so it isn’t ranked in our Log for now. If Betway comes back, we’ll review it the same way as every other bookmaker and add it to the table.
No. BetLion has moved to Bandabets, which is run by Farthing Zambia Sports Betting Limited under sports betting licence no. 0001078. Existing customers can use the same site and app under the new name. Bandabets ranks third in our Log, with a 200% Kick Off free bet, a Multibet Boost of up to 1,000% and daily Aviator cashback.
It varies by bookmaker. Gal Sport Betting, betPawa and MWOS accept mobile money deposits from just K1, while Bandabets, PariPesa and Bolabet start at K10. betPawa also lets you bet from K0.01. Remember the 5% betting levy comes off every deposit, so a K10 deposit puts K9.50 in your account to bet with.
It’s how many times you must bet the bonus, or your deposit, before you can withdraw any winnings from it. A 3x rollover on a K100 deposit means placing K300 in bets that meet the minimum odds, within the time limit. Lower rollovers, lower minimum odds and longer time limits all make a bonus easier to clear.
